-I met freshmen friends and sophomore friends in the dormitory. So I could go to the welness center and play basketball, go to the strip and so on. And these friends help me to go to the target for buying something.

-Actually, I didn't realize about American/Vegas cultural insight or perspective. But, I will recognize everything as soon as possible.
+I arrived at UNLV this week and I was surprised by the scale of SRWC building (gym building). It has 4 floors, and I can do various work outs on each floor. I love the atmosphere where people were working hard at exercising, and I was able to be motivated by them. Not only the SRWC building, but I also love other buildings like library, dorms, stadium etc.

-"I think I need to learn English more. Sometimes, I feel like I’m good at speaking, but I realize I should practice speaking and learning English more. Sometimes, it goes well, but other times it doesn't."

+Premier UNLV is kind of festival for UNLV students. There are many things to enjoy like climbing, zipline, face painting, and rodeo machine. And the main event for this festival is DJ party. Everyone there was jumping around and enjoying the party. Even though no one was drinking, everyone has fun with high energy as if they were.

-Actually, this is my first time to deal with robot and electronic circuit. So, I could learn how to look circuit diagram and system of robot using a computer and tutorial. But I turned on the face detect program.
+Since this was my first week at UNLV, everyone was new to me. First people that I met were my roommate and suitemates. Thankfully, they came up to me first. They tried to share some necessary items like tissue and water. As they like to work out at gym, I went to the gym with them on my first day at UNLV. I thought it was a relief that they are my roommates.

+==== What institutional of American/Vegas cultural insight did you learn this week? ====
+I met a guy in dormitory who is majoring in mechanical engineering same as me. We talked about education in high school, and one thing I was surprised is about using calculator in high school class. He told me that in America, they use calculators in high school and don’t use calculators as grade gets higher. This is opposite to Korean high school. We use calculators in college courses after the high school graduation. I think each education has its pros and cons. I think American education focuses on personal growth and Korean education focuses on efficiency.

+I found that it takes a lot of energy to use foreign language all day long. I need to concentrate on interpreting what other people are saying and maintain my brain always to be active. So, I learned that learning foreign language in foreign country requires much more effort than I thought. As I feel like to have conversations with others fluently, I’ll do my best to learn English.

+==== What is the status of your technical projects and what skills did you learn? =====
+During the first week, I was allocated in a project operating Golf cart and Kairos. I checked the electronic wiring and battery condition. During the project, I learned about robot’s crucial components such as wiring and circuit. I successfully installed Kairos and operated its handle, vision, and motors controlling throttle and brake. But I haven’t been able to operate Golf cart yet, and I assume that one of the batteries has charging issue.
