 This photo depicts the front lobby of the Tesla Gigafactory. I can hardly contain my own excitement the first moment I walked through those doors and beholding the Tesla Logo. This is a very exciting opportunity for me, to have the chance to combine research and industrial application and applying robotic technology in a real-world situation. I believe with effort from all the different participants on this project, we can produce results that is both impactful to the research and industrial community.

-I met two graduate students studying electrical engineering in front the KAIST library. Their name is DongSun and MunHee. They have no problem with conversing in English with me. The two students are researching on the topic of radio frequency and circuit board. We enjoyed a nice conversation where they ask about American culture and I ask them about Korean culture. I found that most Koreans are fascinated with American culture.
+I have the opportunity to meet with many of my collaborators from the BIM team at Tesla's Gigafactory. However, the person that I have the most opportunity to become familiar with was my roommate, Isaiah Brooks. Isaiah is an intern at Gigafactory's battery production process. Isaiah and his team is responsible for assembling the battery cells and the battery packs. He has been an intern at Tesla for nearly 1 years and he is very familiar with Tesla's production process. Unfortunately, his internship will end in 2 weeks and he will return to his university to finish his education. There is a high chance that he will return to Tesla to continue working after his education.

-During my first week in Korea, I visited Korean National Folk Museum in Seoul and Daejeon Museum of Art. I learned that Koreans have a deep appreciation of their traditional cultures. In addition, I was surprised to found out how much Chinese cultures impacted ancient Korean culture. Calligraphy is a form of art that is deeply appreciated in many Asian countries and Korea is no exception. In Daejeon Museum of Art, there is a whole section dedicated to calligraphy. The writings are composed of both Korean characters and traditional Chinese characters.

-Since this is the first I travel, I learn that I quite enjoy traveling and sight seeing. Especially, I like to learn more about different cultures and traditions. I also discovered that nightlife does not appeal to me personally.
+New opportunities and new environments always present themselves with stimulation. Without properly preparing yourself, these stimulation can be overwhelming. However, at the same time, they will present individual with the chance to learn more about themselves and overcome these obstacles. I found myself in the midst of this process and I am excited to see the outcome.

-During the first week at Hubo Lab, I was given a brand new Intel Nuc kit because my laptop is not powerful enough. With the help of Hubo lab members I was able to install memory, SDD, ubuntu OS, Xenomai, QT, and Choreonoid on the PC. The Xenomai, QT and Choreonoid will allow to simulate Hubo 2 on the computer. I also learn how to add new features to the PODOGUI.
+I appeared at Tesla rather abruptly on Wednesday morning. It seems that Tesla was somewhat unorganized with preparing for my arrival. After some hiccups, I finally received my work laptop and gain access to their network. The first task I received was to become familiar with Tesla's laser scanner. I learned by myself the hardware setup of the laser scanner, taken a test scan, and visualize it within AutoDesk Recap.

+Afterward, I familiarize myself with Python and start learning Boston Dynamic's API.

+I current and immediate future agenda is to study Boston Dynamic's API for Spot Mini in preparation for the training in Boston. Fortunately, Bosdyn left detailed comments in their APIs and I have no trouble navigating them.
